1979 Class AAA Champions

1979 found the Aquinas gridders in a familiar position, at the top of area football. Just like many past Aquinas teams, this years's squad consisted of many talented ballplayers and a lot of determination and dedication. It was these qualities plus the guidance of coaches Teta, Barton, Ferrara and Pilliter that led our team to a 9-1 overall record, the City-Catholic crown, and the Section Five championship. Many memories were stirred up as Aquinas punished its opponents on the playing field. The memories were of great Aquinas teams of the past and this year's team undoubtedly ranks among the best of them.
